D.B Cooper or Dan Cooper is the name given to an unidentified man who hijacked a Boeing 727 aircraft on the 24 of November 1971. A man in his mid 40s purchased a ticket, he gave his name as Dan Cooper, which was later proved to be false. When aboard the aircraft he handed the flight attendant a note stating he had a bomb in his suitcase. He then opened the suitcase revealing batteries and wires and demanded four parachutes and $200,000 in $20 bills, which is about 1.2 million in todays money. When the flight landed Cooper released all his passengers in exchange for the money and parachutes, but he forced the two pilots, an engineer and a flight attendant to remain.

Once the plane was refueled and had taken flight again, D.B ordered the plane to fly to Mexico City, once the plane was under ten thousand feet and around Seattle and Reno, Cooper ordered that the planes rear steps be lowered, he then jumped and has not been seen since.

The FBI then lead an extensive search but to no avail and then the search was called off to divert resources elsewhere. In 1980 a young boy found a decaying package containing over $5000 dollars, this turned out to match the serial numbers of the money stolen by D.B, the FBI then launched another extensive search, again coming up with nothing, Coopers case was officialy closed in 2016 and to this day remains unsolved.

So what happened to D.B Cooper? Did he survive?

I believe Cooper survived the fall but was severely injured, I believed he buried some of the money in order to come back for it later, I believe he intended to get help for his injuries first. Weather or not he made it to get help or died on route is a mystery.
