Genette disappeared while delivering newspapers on her bike, her bike was recovered but she was never found and remains missing to this day. The police investigation into Genette's disappearance was undertaken quickly and was well resourced. The police got a breakthrough when a witness came forward and seen a car near Genette before she had disappeared. ' The Man in the Maroon Car' was never traced.

My Thoughts

I believe 'The Man in the Maroon Car' abducted and later murdered Genette Tate and I believe that man was Robert Black. Black was a child serial killer, known to murder young girls around Genette's age. Black was in the county at the time when Genette disappeared, however Black cannot be placed in the exact place where Genette disappeared. Police were weeks away from charging Black with Genette's murder when he died in prision in 2016. I hope that one day Genette will be found and will be finally able to rest in peace.
