The Holocaust has to be one of history's most disgraceful events. Adolf Eichmann was one of the main organizers of what the Nazi's called the final solution to their "Jewish Problem".
Eichmann was named chief executioner, his responsibilities included identification, assembly and transportation of Jewish people from occupied Europe to the concentration camps for extermination.
After the war Eichmann was captured by US troops, unfortunately he managed to escape, and continued to live under a false identity for several years. However in the 1960's he was captured by the Israelis' and put on trial. During his trial Eichmann denied he knew what was happening to the Jews and other people in the camps, he claimed he was only responsible for transportation and nothing else.
Eichmann was found guilty at his trial and hanged and his ashes were scattered at sea.
There are about a dozen WW2 Nazi's left to face justice, these men will now be well into their 90's and if or when they will ever face trial remains to be seen.
