Dunblane Massacre - Terror In Scotland

In 1996 terror came to Dunblane Primary School in Scotland, ex scout leader Thomas Hamilton 43, entered the school gym and shot 16 children and their teacher dead. Hamilton then took his own life. The tragedy remains Britain's deadliest mass shooting. Below is information about the victims.

Victoria Elizabeth Clydesdale (1990-1996) Aged 5

Victoria loved Gym lessons, she begged her mum to go to school that day even though she had a rash. Victoria was new to the school when she was murdered.

Sophie North (1991-1996) Aged 5

Sophie has just lost her mother to cancer, she was shot multiple times by Hamilton, she was very close to her daddy.

Ross William Irvine (1990-1996) Aged 5

Ross was known for his beautiful smile, he died along with his classmates in the school gym.

Mhairi Isabel MacBeath (1990-1996) Aged 5

Mhairi had just lost her dad to a stroke, not long after the massacre Mhairi became the posterchild for S.A.G.E (Society Against Guns In Europe).

Melissa Helen Currie (1990-1996) Aged 6

Melissa had just moved to the area, she died alongside her best friend in the gym. They had a joint funeral which was attended by over 600 people.

Megan Turner (1990-1996) Aged 6

Megan was loved and cherished by many people. She was among the many terrified children who died that day.

Kevin Hessel (1991-1996) Aged 5

Kevin was in the gym with his best friend Robbie, Robbie tried to push Kevin out of the way. Robbie survived.

John Petrie (1991-1996) Aged 5

John was an outgoing boy, he died at 10.22am the very time he was born only 5 years prior.

Joanna Caroline Ross (1990-1996) Aged 5

Joanna was killed along with her best friend Emma, they are buried together.

Hannah Louise Scott (1990-1996) Aged 5

Hannah was very bright and had a beautiful smile. She was shot 7 times by Hamilton.

Gwen Mayor (1951-1996) Aged 45

Gwen died a hero, as she died trying to protect her class from Hamilton. A year after the massacre she received the Queens bravery honor.

Emma Elizabeth Crozier (1991-1996) Aged 5

Emma died along with her best friend, who she was baptised with, they are now buried together.

Emily Morton (1990-1996) Aged 6

Emily's mother was helping to try to save the lives of the other victims when she learned her daughter was dead. Emily was known for her infectious smile.

David Charles Kerr (1991-1996) Aged 5

David enjoyed playing outside and skipping. His was the first of the funerals to be held. On his gravestone it reads may he run and skip forever.

Charlotte Louise Dunn (1990-1996) Aged 6

Charlotte loved teddy bears, she had a joint funeral with her friend Melissa which was attended by over 600 people.

Brett Mckinnon (1990-1996) Aged 6

Brett liked to ride his bike, he had an A.A Milne poem read at his funeral.

Abigail Joanne McLennan (1990-1996) Aged 5

Abigail had just moved back to Scotland from the east, she died along with her friends in the gym.

Thomas Hamilton was a coward, who took the lives of a teacher and 16 innocent children all because he lost his job as a Scout Leader. Hamilton took his own life after the massacre by shooting himself in the head. Medical responders were said to have resisted the urge to kick his dead body when attending the scene.
