Kitty was born in 1935 in New York City. Kitty landed herself a job as a bartender in Brooklyn and on the night of 13th March 1964 she was brutally murdered. The sad thing about all this it could have been avoided if it wasn't for peoples failure to act, instead they just ignored Kitty's desperate pleas for help.

Kitty's attacker then returned, raped and stabbed her and stole her money. Later that week police had a breakthrough when pursuing a separate investigation, they found Winston Mosely whos car had matched the description seen near Kitty's apartment at the time of the murder. After some questioning Mosely cracked and admitted to murdering Kitty. Mosley had spotted Kitty when he was at traffic lights and then followed her home, he told police that he had been driving around searching for a victim, but gave no motive to the attack.

I believe Kitty could have been saved by the neighbor who witnessed the stabbing, unortunatly due to the bystander effect Kitty lost her life. If more people did not have the someone else will do something attitude, people like Kitty would still be alive today. Kitty's case was one of the factors for the 911 introduction in 1968.
