9/11 The Day The World Changed Forever - The Hijackers

September 11 2001 was a day that changed the world forever. Four planes were hijacked by 19 Al- Qaeda terrorists, over 2,977 people lost their lives that day and thousands were injured and thousands more have subsequently died from respiratory diseases. In this post I will be talking about the 19 hijackers, however look out for more 9/11 stuff coming soon.

1. Mohammad Atta (1968-2001) Aged 33 (American Airlines Flight 11) (North Tower)

Mohammad was the oldest hijacker to take part in the attacks, Atta was at the control of the plane when it crashed into the North Tower murdering over 1,600 people. Atta's family believe he was murdered by the government of Israel.

2. Abdulaziz al-Omari (1979-2001) Aged 22 (American Airlines Flight 11) (North Tower)

Abdu was an ex Iman, Abdu helped storm the cockpit and keep the other passengers under control.

3. Wail al-Shehri (1973-2001) (American Airlines Flight 11) (North Tower)

Wail was a teacher, he along with his brother helped hijack Flight 11 and subsequently stabbed two flight attendants. Wail was said to have been found alive by the BBC, however this was a case of mistaken identity.

4. Waleed al-Shehri (1978-2001) Aged 22 ( American Airlines Flight 11) ( North Tower)

Waleed, the brother of Wail, was a student, he along with his brother helped hijack Flight 11. Waleed and his brother's family claim they were brainwashed into carrying out the attacks.

5. Satam al-Suqami (1976-2001)Aged 25 (American Airlines Flight 11) (North Tower)

Satam was a Law student, on the flight Satam stabbed passenger Daniel M Lewin for attempting to stop the Hijacking.

6. Marwan al- Shehhi (1978-2001) Aged 23 (United Airlines Flight 175) (South Tower)

Marwan was the hijacker pilot of Flight 175, which crashed into The South Tower, this was seen live on TV for the world to see, 614 people were murdered in The South Tower.

7. Fayez Banihammad (1977-2001) Aged 24 (United Airlines Flight 175) (South Tower)

Fayez was unemployed, on the flight his seat was 2A, he helped Marwan gain entrance to the cockpit.

8. Mohand al-Shehri (1979-2001) Aged 22 (United Airlines Flight 175) (South Tower)

Mohand was a college dropout, Mohad was probably one of the hijackers who murdered both of the pilots before stabbing flight attendants and assisting the flight of the plane into The South Tower.

9. Hamza al- Ghamdi (1980-2001) Aged 20 (United Airlines Flight 175) (South Tower)

Hamza allegedly left home to fight the Russians in Chechnya. On Flight 175 he kept the passengers and crew in the back of the plane while Fayez murdered the pilots and Marwan flew the plane. In September of 2006 a video was released showing Hamza planning the attacks.

10. Ahmed al- Ghamdi (1979-2001) Aged 22 (United Airlines Flight 175) (South Tower)

Ahmed dropped out of school to allegedly fight the Russians in Chechnya. He sat at the back of the plane in seat 9D. He assisted Hamza at keeping the passengers and crew at the back of the plane allowing the murder of the pilots.

11. Hani Hanjour (1972-2001) Aged 29 (American Airlines Flight 77) (The Pentagon)

Nawaf was known to the CIA as a possible terrorist, Nawaf reportedly played a large role in the attacks. His younger brother was also a hijacker on the plane. the plane when it crashed into the Pentagon. Hanjor's family deny he was involved in the attacks as he had spoken to them 8 hours prior and did not sound off.

12. Khalid al Mihdhar (1975-2001) Aged 26 (American Airlines Flight 77) (The Pentagon)

Khalid a father of two, was among the hijackers of Flight 77. The BBC reported that he was alive after the attacks, however this was case of mistaken identity.

13. Majed Moqed (1977-2001) Aged 24 (American Airlines Flight 77) (The Pentagon)

Majed a Law student, was identified as a process of elimination from DNA. Majed assisted Hani in crashing into the Pentagon killing 125 people inside the building.

14.Nawaf al Hazmi (1976-2001) Aged 25 (American Airlines Flight 77) (The Pentagon)

Nawaf was known to the CIA as a possible terrorist, Nawaf reportadly played a large role in the attacks. His younger brother was also a hijacker on the plane.

15. Salem al Hazmi (1981-2001) Aged 20 (American Airlines Flight 77) (The Pentagon)

Salem had a history with Al Qaeda before the attacks, his older brother was also a hijacker on the same flight. After the attacks it was reported that he was alive and working in Saudi Arabia and that his identity had been stolen, however this was false.

16. Ziad Jarrah (1975-2001) Aged 26 (United Airlines 93) (Crashed into Field)

Ziad was a wealthy individual, who was the hijacker pilot of Flight 93 which was overcome by the passengers and crashed into a field. The revolting passengers tried to use a snack cart as a battering ram to bash down the cockpit door. Ziad's family stated he was a pleasant man and did not show any twisted beliefs.

17. Ahmed al Haznawi (1980-2001) Aged 20 (United Airlines Flight 93) (Crashed into Field)

Ahmed along with the other hijackers was wearing red bandanna on Flight 93. He appeared in a film after the attacks confirming his guilt.

18. Ahmed al Nami (1977-2001) Aged 23 (United Airlines Flight 93) (Crashed into Field)

Ahmed was a former college student, he was among the hijackers of Flight 93, which was overcome by the passengers and crashed into a field instead of its intented target The White House.

19. Saeed al Ghamdi (1979-2001) Aged 21 (United Airlines Flight 93) (Crashed into Field)

Saeed was a college dropout who was personally chosen by Bin Laden to carry out the attacks. Saeed was in the cockpit with Ziad when they were overrun by revolting passengers subsequently crashing the plane into a field.

Every passenger aboard Flight 93 was a true hero as was all the people who assisted the victims of 9/11 that day. Please look out for more 9/11 stuff soon.
