5. Gary Box 1966-2001

Gary Box was a 35-year-old firefighter, seen here in the last ever picture of him on 9/11. It is not known exactly what happened to Gary but it is assumed he died a hero along with all the other emergency services and others that helped out that day.

4. The Tai Diver 1980-2018

This is the last ever image taken of Saman Gunan, he was involved in the 2018 rescue of a young boys football team who had gotten trapped in a flooded cave. Saman lost consciousness on his way back out of the cave having delivered oxygen to those still trapped.

3. The Figure Skating Team - 1961

This photo was taken just before the US Figure Skating team boarded Sabena Flight 548. The plane crashed shortly before landing killing all 72 passengers and crew and one person on the ground.

2. The Wild West Gunfighter 1898

Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith the 2nd, was a con artist and gangster in the old wild west. This is the last image of him before he was killed in a shootout with Frank H Reid over a minor disagreement.

1. Doomed Flight MH17 - 2014

This picture was taken by Dave Hally of his wife and 4 year old daughter on Flight M17 that was shot down by the Russians in 2014. All 298 people aboard were killed.
