They say a picture is worth a thousand words, however for some people a picture is one of the last things ever taken of them before disaster srtikes.
5. The Last Selfie

Collette Moreno snapped this selfie with her friend Ashley Theobald, both 26. Before the car crashed killing Collette instantly. Collette was due to be married and also was not wearing her seatbelt when this photo was taken, Ashley was only injured in the crash. Collette left behind her devastated fiancée and 5 year old son. Don't selfie and drive and always wear your seatbelt!
4. The Columbine Hero

Dave Sanders was one of the 13 people killed at Columbine High School in 1999 ( See more about that here: https://sarahgibson1988.wixsite.com/stepintoescapism/post/the-columbine-massacre ) This image was taken of him while he guided students away from the shootings and told them to hide under desks. Seconds later Dave was killed by both Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. Dave saved coutless lives that day.
3. Innocence Lost

At first this photo seems innocent. However this is the last image of 2 year old James Bulger, being led away to his death by one of his killers, 10 year old Robert Thompson. Thompson also with John Venables, also 10, led poor James to a railway track before they tortured and beat him to death. See more about this case in a future post.
2. The Tragic Princess

Princess Diana was traveling in a car with her bodyguard and driver when they were run off the road crashing into a pillar in Paris. Her and her driver were killed instantly, her bodyguard on the left survived. This photograph was no doubt taken by one of the journalists chasing her.
1. Terror at the Theater

Gilles Leclerc and Marianne Labanane are enjoying their drinks at Bataclan awaiting the appearance of the band Eagles of Death Metal. A few minuites after this image was taken a group of gunman burst into the theater killing 90 people. Gilles tragically died, however Marianne survived.
