5. Mathilda of Austria 1849-1867


Mathilda a duchess, was forbidden by her father to smoke. Being rebellious she defied her fathers' orders and lit up, catching her dress on fire giving her second and third-degree burns, with her dying in front of her whole family.


4. Frank Hayes 1901-1923



Frank Hayes was a jockey who sadly suffered a heart attack mid-race at Belmont Park in New York. He passed the finishing line in first, still atop his horse making him the only jockey to have won a race while dead.


3. Garry Hoy 1955-1993



Garry was a lawyer, who perished from his office building when he fell 24 floors after jumping against the window to prove it was unbreakable. He apparently had performed this stunt several times before without incident.

2. Governer Morris 1752-1816



Morris had a blockage and urinary tract infection. His solution to his issue was to use a whalebone to clear the blockage, this resulted in internal injuries dying at his family’s estate.

1. Jennifer Strange 1979-2007


Jennifer entered a competition held by a local radio station called hold your wee for a Wii competition. Contestants were required to drink as much water as they could without urinating. Jennifer died as a result of water intoxication and the radio station was sued for wrongful death as a result.
